Buss is the oldest settlement in Schulmania. When prehistoric Schulminions first built homes, it was here, overlooking Buss Bay. From the first crude wooden huts, Buss grew to become one of the first four villages in Schulmania and assumed a prominence in Schulminion society which endures to this day. The small village assumed a pre-eminent role in the budding nation during the Great Tomato Scare, when it was feared that killer tomatoes growing nearby would decimate the town. In response to this grave concern, the town was enclosed within a wall and, along with neighboring Wanda, became a fortified town. The castle proved unnecessary, as no attacks occurred. But, the name stuck and the town, called Buss Castle at first, was eventually named Busscastle. Busscastle became a commerce center and an early base for explorers venturing across what was then referred to as “The World Ocean.” Due to its proximity to the Sacred Precinct, a major religious structure, the Basilica of Felis Catus, was built, but never finished. The ruins today stand sentinel over historic Buss Bay. Eventually, the population grew beyond the castle walls and led to the construction of nearby Baby Busscastle. The town continued to prosper, adding new homes and businesses as well as a major new ferry port. Busscastle today has the highest population of any city on the home island of Schulmanicus. Busscastle is a prominent commerce and cultural center, but is best known for its largest business, Busscastle Chocolates. The largest confectionery in the sweet-toothed nation, Busscastle Chocolates operations grew so large that the company bought Baby Busscastle to be its new headquarters. |

The oldest part of Buss has been preserved and remains surrounded by the fields and woods which were there centuries ago. The site, near Heritage Square, is a designated National Historic Park. |

Buss Castle, the structure that gave its name to the town which surrounds it, is one of the most ancient stone structures in the nation and is a historic landmark. |

When the town expanded into ancient sites, historic buildings were moved and reassembled at Heritage Square. |

Busscastle Chocolates outgrew its former home after its purchase by a consortium of feisty felines. This consortium funded the expansion of the town by removing historic Stick Style structures and assembling them together in a new area, designated “Heritage Square”. Clustered together around a cobblestone plaza and a complementary civic hall, Heritage Square provides a glimpse of medieval Schulmania, as the buildings have been restored and updated to be used by businesses and homes.
Busscastle Chocolates has been a driving force in the Schulminion economy. Suppliers in rural areas as far ranging as East Devonshire and South Wirdleonia provide ingredients |

and the large cash flow into those areas props up the local economies. The resulting commerce makes Busscastle the largest exporter of manufactured goods in the nation.
Busscastle is renowned for more than chocolates. Celebrated early explorer Captain Hopinjon hails from here, as does Bureau of Feline Affairs Governor-General H. J. Franciflora. Several famous authors also are from Busscastle, including Kitten Kelley and James Meowchiner.
