Castello di Carmelcciase,

South Wirdleonia

Castello di Carmelcciase is a hilltop agricultural town which served as a springboard for southern colonization.

First City in Schulmania’s Deep South

Castello di Carmelcciase, “Castello” to the locals, was the first settlement in Schulmania south of the greater Schulmanidad area. The agricultural village is centered around its citadel atop Mt. Carmela.  The multiple springs on the hilltop provide water both for Castello and its twin city, Campo di Carmelcciase.  A maze of aqueducts carries water both there and to Hestobria, whose reservoir, Lake Urabuss, is fed by the flow.

The small town’s slopes are enveloped in various agricultural fields. The area is second only to Belva Dear in farming output in Wirdleonia.  Several important varieties of wheat and flowering fruits make the area a valuable production region. In addition to agricultural bounty, the area also serves as a processing center for exotic meats, caught in the wild Plains of Wirdleonia. Many of the goods are sold at the local Mercato dei Gatti, a general market and feline supply center.

The town is accessible only by trails. Several lead down the slopes from the summit in multiple directions. Carmelcciase trail connects to Campo di Carmelcciase and serves as the only connection between this pair of towns.

The town citadel hosts much of the civic, residential and commercial sites.

Steep, field-lined paths lead to the mountaintop center of town.
