A Gracious University Town |
|
East St. Paul was founded by immigrants from Atkinos Town. Named for the famed domed cathedral in Atkinos, the town is, itself, dominated by a massive and distinctive church. Another feature of the town is the large U-shaped canal which enclosed the church compound on three sides and helps define the character of the city. The canal serves mainly as a reservoir but also for transportation and recreation. East St. Paul is a popular destination for those involved in the fine and performing arts. There is a sizeable population of professional artists of all sorts and many authors and publishing houses as well. Live theater is quite popular in town, as are musical performances. Strong public and private support have made the city a haven for painters, ceramic and glass designers, sculptors and fine crafts of all sorts. Multiple open air crafts markets have made East St. Paul a popular destination for collectors and aficionados of quality décor. |

|
Defined by its central canal and massive church, East St. Paul is still best known for its award-winning university. |

The distinctive church serves as the longest structure in Schulmania. |

In addition to the quality wares and fine musical and theatrical performances, East St. Paul is perhaps best known for its university. The University of St. Paul is the largest post secondary institution in the region and one of the largest in the nation. Its large number of programs and illustrious group of alumni have made it one of the most sought-after choices for students entering college life. It has also sparked a great deal of civic pride for its athletic teams, many of whom have brought back championship trophies to the city. |
