New Atkinos: Cedar Bluff

A www.schulmania.info exclusive update!

There is excitement on the island of New Atkinos. Since the founding of the first and only town, there has been clamoring to further develop the island. The majority of the island is occupied by the steep slopes of Rocky Top, the caldera which serves as Schulmania’s highest point above sea level. A large part of the island is part of the Rocky Top Park, serving as both a natural site and as a hunting ground. With no roads leading to the park and no services available, it was argued that some sort of settlement was needed on the eastern end of the island.

As can be seen here, there is not much available land for building on the east end of the island.

Efforts between the City Planning Office and New Atkinos leaders to find a solution continued for some time. A conference at Community House led to a breakthrough – plans to develop a small town on the eastern end of the island on the plains and bluffs overlooking the channel. Part of the deal is exclusive access from an expanded harbor on New Atkinos.

The small town of Cedar Bluff featured a commercial district and a church with a winding road, lined with houses, running along the bluff. A statue was placed at the end of Commerce Street by the merchants to honor Fleet Captain von Bremerhaven, the intrepid captain who was instrumental in developing the port facility used to transport people and goods to the town from the western side of the island.

A focal point of the community is the Mission Church of St. Hazel.
