Admiral Hestorb, Queen of Schulmanicus, was born on December 11th. The eldest daughter of Governor Cawale, Countess of Gran Maru, began her life along Oak Ridge, on the outskirts of Wirt. Her formative years were spent learning and exploring. Her acrobatic talents at leaping and chasing combined with a great curiosity to drive her to became an explorer. Commissioned as a captain, she began short haul ventures out of Busscastle harbor, exploring the Tenne Sea. Her crew was the first to circumnavigate the island of Schulmanicus, earning her the title of Admiral, which she still proudly carries to this day. Not content with the glory of this feat, Hestorb assembled a fleet to explore the sea, then known as “the world ocean.” The fleet headed south. Hestorb’s ships left Smightower heading due south. Governor Cawale’s ships headed southwest. Cawale found and settled the island of Gran Maru. Cawale and Fleet Captain Splunt found the island of Atkinos. Splunt established the large town of Atkinos on the western end of the island. Admiral Hestorb claimed the northeastern part of the island for a small town, Atkiniros, which she founded and operated as mayor. Appointed mayor of Atkiniros, Admiral Hestorb remained in that position until she resigned in favor of her appointment as queen of Schulmanicus. |

Hestorb maintains her official residence on Atkiniros Circle but works from Wirtyplace in Wirt. She recently purchased her second home, a vacation villa in the southern town of Hestorbia, named in her honor. She spends her time in these places and also at the estate of her husband, Baron Nik, in south central Harar.
Hestorb is known as a gourmet gourmand. She is quite particular as to the varieties of Fancy Feast she consumes, and is partial to chicken hearts and livers. She is less particular about the quantity of gourmet items she consumes. Her long fur helps some to disguise the fact that she is the stoutest member of the ruling family. Admiral Hestorb is also well known for a high profile catnip addiction. Catnip, often used for a soothing herbal tea, was being grown in a large Wirdleonian plantation for profit. But, Hestorb’s consumption grew so rapidly that she exported none and diverted funds from the western seas exploration fleet she was supervising to maintain her catnip supply. Once exposed, Hestorb went to the Klingman Institute in Gran Maru for treatment. Her treatment was successful and she returned to lead the western explorations across the Tenne Sea to discovered vast new lands to the west. |

Hestorb’s many responsibilities have led to many titles. In addition to being an admiral, she also is the founder of Atkiniros and served as its first mayor. She resigned the position after the governmental reorganization created multidistrict regional governments. The Supreme Wirdle appointed her as Queen of Schulmanicus, granting her authority to rule the home islands of Schulmanicus, Atkinos and Gran Maru from Wirt. Hestorb has been lauded as a leader and as a visionary. She revealed in October that she had a disturbing set of visions about Schulmania’s destruction. She used this as a catalyst to encourage protective measures around the western Devonshire port town of Schulmericho, the focus of her visions.
One of Admiral Hestorb’s proudest accomplishments is not a political or exploration triumph. Rather, it is the success of her eldest daughter, Princess Shelby, who has been appointed as leader of Devonshire. She maintains a close relationship with her daughter as well as her mother, Governor Cawale.
Admiral Hestorb is known for many things: explorer, civic leader, benevolent ruler. Her presence has been felt across the nation thanks to her intrepid spirit, sense of adventure, and dedication to duty. She has led many innovations in Schulmania, including the upgrades to naval vessels after the Great Hurricane. The retrofitting and upgrades to Schulmania’s fleet made western exploration in Tenne possible. She has also advocated the creation of the Agricultural Extension Office, which monitors food quality and administers the Bureau of Catnip Management, an agency dedicated to catnip quality and regulation. Hestorb is well known in feline circles for her only invention, the Claw Admiral, a claw sharpener able to give cat claws scythe-like lethality. Out of her many titles—Admiral, Queen, Mayor—she prefers admiral the most. It captures her spirit of adventure and her drive for success. |
