Princess Shelby, leader of Devonshire, is the daughter of Queen Admiral Hestorb of Schulmanicus. Born April 26, Shelby has been a valuable and determined member of the ruling dynasty. Raised in Atkiniros, Shelby’s natural abilities and her kindly disposition made her a born leader. Once explorers found Devonshire on the eastern coast of the Tenne Sea, Shelby leapt at the opportunity to provide the mountainous area with quality leadership. Initially taking up residence in Georgehampton, Shelby declared the town first the seat of government for the Lake George area and then for the entire district. Since then, Shelby has worked tirelessly to provide quality government and inspired leadership to the citizens under her care. For her efforts, the Supreme Wirdle elevated her position to Princess of Devonshire and granted the title to her and her heirs.
Shelby grew up as a frisky young kitten. Initially impressing the multitudes with her fantastic climbing ability, Shelby settled into an athletic career focusing on string and chase. She trained for the Feline Simlympics and represented Schulmania in string events. Though her chasing skills are highly refined, she has not pursued it save for as a hobby. |

Shelby is highly regarded for her ability to chase strings. She is a three time gold medalist in Freestyle String at the Feline Simlympics. |

In addition to her athletic prowess, Shelby has been a longtime supporter of arts and culture. She has sponsored an annual pouncing festival to encourage youth to develop graceful pouncing techniques, just as she did when she attended such a festival in Atkinos. The encourages musicians as well. As a result, Devonshire has the highest concentration of musicians in the nation. Princess Shelby is an a cappella purer and can also play purr-cussion instruments. In an ongoing effort to bring the fine arts to her citizens, Shelby sponsors an annual party in every town across the principality. Initially known as the Devonshire Summer Festival, it quickly became known as the “Monkey Festival” because revelers were said to “go bananas.” The Monkey Festival is held every June 29th from coast to coast and expenses are sponsored by Shelby. |

Shelby is regarded as an innovator not only for her support of arts, culture and sports, but also for her groundbreaking efforts to develop the Wirdle’s Canine Council. Shelby has been a longtime advocate for canine residents of Schulmania. Her advocacy is what led to the formation of the council. In a dramatic move to encourage support of the loyal canine population, Shelby chose a canine as her roommate while she was attending college. In doing so, she demonstrated to a wary populace that dogs can indeed be trained to be loyal and obedient companions of felines.
When she is not busy bettering the lives of her citizens, Princess Shelby likes to unwind by looking out of windows, sunning herself and playing. Her favorite recreational activities are chasing string, batting at small toys and objects and pouncing on catnip-filled toys. She is married to Sir Ossie, a distant relative. At present, they have two kittens, Cricket and Monroe. |
